Community Guidelines
Abide is a place for believers to be honest with each other and with God. These guidelines keep it safe and worth showing up to.
Respectful Christian discussion
Disagreement is fine — cruelty isn't. Discuss theology, struggles, and doubts with humility and kindness, even when you disagree.
Harassment and bullying
Don't target, pile on, or repeatedly contact someone who has asked to be left alone. Persistent unwanted attention will be removed.
Hate speech
Content that attacks people based on race, ethnicity, nationality, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or similar characteristics is not allowed.
Sexual or exploitative content
No sexual content, solicitation, or exploitation of any kind. This includes content involving minors, which is reported to authorities — see our Child Safety page.
Dangerous advice
Don't give advice that could put someone in danger — including medical advice, instructions to stop taking prescribed medication, or encouragement/instructions related to self-harm. Point people toward real help instead.
Spam and impersonation
No spam, unsolicited promotion, or pretending to be someone you're not, including impersonating another member, a moderator, or Abide staff.
Sharing someone's private information
Never post another person's private information — real name, address, phone number, workplace, or similar — without their consent (doxxing).
Misuse of prayer requests
Prayer requests are sacred trust. Don't mock a prayer request, gossip about it elsewhere, screenshot it, or use it to solicit someone.
Reporting, blocking, and muting
Use the flag/report control on any post, reply, or profile to send it to our moderators. You can block a user to stop them from contacting or seeing you, or mute a thread to stop notifications from it. After a report, our moderators review the content — depending on what they find, content may be removed, replies may be locked, and accounts may be warned or suspended.
